A Magazine + A Video

I've always had an interest in writing, stemming from childhood when I wrote many short stories (and a lengthy one that I never did finish...). I've been writing for Earth Garden for several years now and published my successful sourdough eBook three years ago. Way back in Autumn the idea for a digital magazine for knitters and crocheters started to form, and after lots of thinking and list-writing the name Yarnologie was chosen, and the magazine started to take shape.
It's been many, many months in the planning, and so I was really excited and just a bit nervous to publically announce Yarnologie. The response has been absolutely wonderful, and the very first issue of Yarnologie will be published this weekend. I'm looking forward to it but am also pretty nervous about it.

I love sharing interesting stories about other people, and to be able to combine this with my love of photography and of course, yarn, is absolutely wonderful. Even though Yarnologie is a digital publication, it's formatted as it would be if it was printed. It's visually appealing with many beautiful photographs accompanying each article, along with the touch of my clever graphic designer to really make it sing. I may have a small dream to see it in print - perhaps an annual edition - but for now, I am enjoying getting it off the ground.

Summer Days On Film

This month's film is slower paced than all of my others, perhaps truly reflecting what summer days are like. Lots of shade seeking, water drinking and waiting for the sun to go down.

I hope you enjoy it - and perhaps let me know about your summer days in the comments below!

And, as it usual with my film posts, below the film you'll find some things I've been enjoying and I thought you might too.

A Spring Film

I'm absolutely loving spring this year. That last few years have been so hot and dry, but this year we seem to be experiencing all four seasons again, which is lovely. I thought it was probably time to put together another film, this one goes for just over two minutes, so it's a little lengthier then the last one.

The biscuits I'm making in the film are these Gluten Free Garlic & Rosemary crackers. They are seriously moreish and so easy to make.

Also, if you're inspired to make a film for your own blog, check out my post How to Make a Lovely Little Film for Your Blog

I hope you're enjoying the weekend!

How to Make A Lovely Little Film for Your Blog

Making little films is something I first tried a few years ago, and over the last few months I've started to get back into it. I'd love to make more, more often, and plan to when things aren't so busy here.

I always receive such wonderful feedback on my films that I share here (thank-you so much!!), and as it's very likely that you have your own blog, I thought today I'd share 7 little tips on making your own film!
I'm by no means an expert, but these are things that I do with my own films, along with some advice that I found invaluable with first starting out, and some links to examples of wonderful bloggers who make films, and other resources.

Spring is Coming (on Film) + Lots More

I've begun to see the first little signs of spring this week....we even had a few days that were decidedly hot, but now the cold has returned - most likely the last chill of winter before Spring arrives properly. The peach tree has begun to blossom, the mango is laden in flowers and there are Tree Martins flitting about the paddocks and trees all day long.
This season is short lived in this part of the country, which makes me relish it all the more. Very soon the gentle, warm days will turn to searing hot ones, so I'll lap up spring while it lasts.
I've put together a short film - it's been a couple of months since my last so I hope you'll enjoy this one all the more!

After you've watched it, I've included beneath a few links to articles I've enjoyed lately plus a few other things too.

Enjoy!

June on Film + Some Extras

Time seems to be flying at the moment! It is time share June on Film, and I think you'll really enjoy this month's edition.
I'm really enjoying making these little films every month. This one features lots of chickens; Silkies to be exact which are just too cute not to capture in motion!
Before we get into it though, I've a couple of things I'd like to share with you (and I think you'll like!)

May on Film

Another month almost gone, and so much has been packed into this one. There have been delights, surprises and a few shocks along the way. I've tried to capture my favourite moments on film, and here they are below. This one is a little shorter than last month's film, but I hope you enjoy it just as much.
Winter is almost here, and we're almost half way through the year. Can it be true?
