Loving // Watching the clutches of chickens grow up. At the moment I have 2 groups of 8 - a clutch from the laying flock and a newborn clutch of Silkie and Pekin bantams. They are raised by Silkie hens and are the most delightful sight to see!
Eating // Hommus on sourdough, pork stir fries made with our own meat and plenty of food from the garden
Drinking // Need I write it? Tea, as usual
Wearing // Old summer farm clothes, the practical choice for the daily chores
Feeling // Like Christmas is on the way. I always get a subconscious excited buzz at this time of year; I think it might be a hang-over from childhood and looking forward to that 6 weeks holiday from school. At any rate, I still relish the beginning of summer
Making // More squares from this book for my Spring blanket, the beginnings of a new toy pattern and more fair isle drafts
Thinking // About truly embracing each day as it comes, living in the moment and not looking so far forward and placing worries on the future we really can't control. It's harder than it sounds
Dreaming // Of picking the first of the sweet corn soon, of summer picnics to the crater lakes and a day trip to the beach

I think Dads name of Chilli Chops must lean towards Hot Legs for one of them! LOL
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your blog, thank you.
Hi Ann, I'm glad to hear you enjoy reading. Thanks for your suggestion - so cute!
DeleteTea. Is there anything else? We drink a lot of tea around here.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure there really is anything else.....except when our milking cow was lactating, then it was warm milk drinks daily.
DeleteKebab and Kale for the lambs :-)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I may well call him kebab :-)
DeleteLife looks so good at your place Sarah. Truly being in the moment is certainly harder than it sounds...even with the best of intentions! Wishing you a happy week x
ReplyDeleteThanks Jane - I hope you have a good week too! x
DeleteSuch a sweet photo of your little lambikins ;) No good with names, although these two remind me of springtime flowers ... Snowdrop? Love the snappy black bibs they wear ;) Gearing up for Christmas here too with lots of sewing and knitting getting done in a race against time. Enjoy your week Sarah!
ReplyDeleteWendy
I really like the name Snowdrop - I'll have to try it out on her and see if it sticks. Thank-you!
DeleteI must be lovely to be knitting for Christmas - far too hot here most days as we head into summer :-)
Awww. Those silkie hens and chicks are so cute. We used to have two silkie hens - names Suzie and Rozie - named after my Mum and MIL. I'm thinking we need to get some more silkies.
ReplyDeleteSilkies are my absolute favourite breed - I think that is well reflected in the flock numbers though. We have a flock of 6 layers and I have 15 Silkies. I do breed them though so running a few flocks to keep bloodlines open is where the numbers come from :-) I think you should get some Silkies again too :-)
