Knit It | Wafer Cable Beanie Pattern

I'm so excited to be finally sharing this pattern with you! I say finally because I first sketched the idea for this around Easter, so it feels like it's been a long time coming for me.
This Beanie was specifically designed to showcase Adagio Mills Alpaca DK, which is a beautiful Australian owned, grown and made alpaca yarn that is un-dyed and so comes in a delicious range of natural colours that are created by blending different fleeces together. I wanted to find a way to use these natural colours to their best ability, and after browsing the selection of chocolate coloured yarns, I decided on a wafer inspired beanie.

As with the last beanie pattern I made, I've provided instructions for working the Wafer Cable Beanie both flat and in-the-round, so you can work it in whichever is your preferred style. The beanie is worked from the bottom-up; a 2x2 ribbed cuff kicks things off before the Wafer Cables begin. At the end, the cables gently twist out into the crown decrease, before finishing off with a pompom. A thick cosy fabric is created from the combination of the cables and the stranding across the back, making this a very warm and snugly winter accessory.
Pompoms may be optional on some beanies, but it's an important part of this one. We really can't leave the pompom off!

The pattern is now available on Ravelry and on my website.
As the yarn the beanie is pictured in will be arriving in my shop next week (or today, if we're very lucky!), I've put together a special introductory offer. I simply had to add this yarn to my shop, as whilst I was working on the pattern I couldn't help but think how lovely the alpaca was to work with every time I picked up my needles. I thought alpaca would be hairy and scratchy, but this is so cuddly and soft, it's really very delicious!
Anyway, if you would like to knit yourself a delicious beanie with Vanilla Milkshake cables paired either with Fudge or Chocolate Indulgence, you can receive 15% off the pattern when you purchase the yarn to go with it. Just use the code WAFER.
You will need 2 balls of Vanilla Milkshake and 2 balls of either Fudge or Chocolate Indulgence.

The pattern is here and the yarn is here.

Happy knitting!
