On Sourdough Writing

Life has been very full this week. I can't believe the amount that has been packed into the last seven days, it feels like so long ago since I published May on Film. Between writing articles and mapping out future blog posts, I've been enjoying reading other stories around the web and have shared a few of my favourites below.

I've also been busy writing my first eBook. It's very exciting and a little daunting. I've thought a few times about mentioning it here, and have decided to share it with you as I think it will make me commit more and perhaps overcome some of my fears about self-publishing a book.
It might seem strange that I would have reservations around publishing an eBook, considering I have been writing this blog for almost four years now, and have recently started writing for Earth Garden.
But that just seems to be me - I always get a little nervous when I start a new project. It's exciting, there's so much information to get into it, and the posts I've written here on sourdough have already helped so many of you, I'm really excited to be able to share an entire Whole Spelt Sourdough eBook with you.
Whilst I'm finalising my first draft, I'd love to know if there is a specific problem you would like covered in the eBook, or even in a post here? If so, send through an email. Baking with whole grains is tricky, I know, and I'd love to help!

Now, here are a few stories I've enjoyed this week. Perhaps you'd like to share an article you've enjoyed recently in the comments?

Food for thought, especially if you care about supporting local designers and makers: Just A Card Campaign on Mollie Makes
I think we are all guilty of this: I'll Do That Later on Practising Simplicity
Recipes based on Enid Blyton books? Yes please! Ginger Cake From The Island Of Adventure by A Bookish Baker
And on paper, I'm rereading one of my favourite novels

I hope you've been having a good week!

  1. I definitely look forward to the book, your posts have helped me so much when starting my own culture (blog post coming soon) and I have a loaf proving even just now because we eat the bread so much. What you posted just now is an absolutely lovely looking loaf (although the pattern you created on it makes me giggle as it is quite a rude symbol where I am from :)). You're a star, keep writing!!!!!!

  3. Oh good luck with your book. I'm starting a similar project myself (not on sourdough, I hasten to add!) and feel completely overwhelmed. And thank you for sharing my Enid Blyton Ginger cake post. x

  4. Thank you for introducing me to the Bookish Baker. Love this post. I'm a huge fan of Enid Blyton and the Famous Five and adore the food in the stories. My last post on Famous Five-inspired food was a while ago but I still drink this in summer. http://katiecrackernuts.blogspot.com.au/2011/09/bartender-gimme-famous-five-make-it.html
