{one & two} Trying new recipes from these yummy books. Pictured is - Pears, peeled and ready for poaching; The poached pears all served up with home-made chocolate mousse, whipped cream and "pistachio soil"; Pork with wild mushroom sauce and balsamic potatoes; Caramelized onion and herb whole-wheat rolls/flats.
And the books: Artisan Bread in Five Minutes A Day, Around the World in 80 Dishes and delicious. Simply the Best.
{three} Nothing out of the ordinary has happened with the farm animals this week, and their feeding routine is still the same. Yet I've felt so happy, watching the cows munch their chaff this week, and the chickens pecking their grain. All on the farm is good at the moment.
{four} I've started trusting Rilla's recall more, and she's had a lot more off lead time. It's made us both happy. She gets plenty of exercise, plus sneaks in an uncalled for turkey chase now and then. She's not yelled at. After all, she is a herding dog, and she doesn't hurt them. Just damages Gobbler's pride a little :-)
Do you have a happy list this week?
I'd love to know what's on it!
