For day 21 of the Photo A Day Challenge, I was at first unsure what to photograph. The prompt went something like this "What you do. Take a picture of where you work, or what makes you "you"".
Where I work...hmm. Well that is our farm. And although it is small, it is still too big to fit in one camera shot.
What makes me me. I did a lot of thinking about this half of the prompt.
I could photograph baking, knitting, or perhaps the animals. I could photograph Rilla, my favourite books or the way I wear my hair.
All of these things go together to make up me. It would be impossible to cram all of this into one picture. Because the truth is, there are thousands of tiny little traits, likes, dislikes, behaviours and characteristics that go together to make me. It is like this for every person on this earth.
I love creating. My most common form of creating is with yarn and needles, or in the kitchen.
I love my dog, Rilla. I love training and working with dogs, and a breed as intelligent as the Border Collie is even more delightful to work with.
And I love our farm. I love living out of town. I love that we have all this acreage completely to ourselves. We do have neighbours, and lovely ones at that, but their bathroom window isn't in line with ours, their door isn't but a few metres from our own.
And I love that we were fortunate enough to find this block, and be able to call it our very own.
How would you photograph the things that make you you?
Have a beautiful week!
PS Today I started making my very first quilt. I'll share more about it with you another day, but for now you can check it out over here.
