I frequently share pretty sunsets and sunrises with you on my blog. Even more frequently I take pictures of the sun.
But the moon, on the other hand, has never made an appearance on Chantille Fleur.
Mostly due to the fact that the moon just doesn't look pretty as often as the sun, and more so because my camera cracks up if I try to take photos in the dark.
But the other afternoon we had our first clear night after a week of rain. The dark green of the pines contrasted nicely with the pale blue sky, and wispy clouds framed the bright moon.
I grabbed the camera in another attempt to photograph a pretty moon rise.
And for once, I managed to capture it. It was light enough for the camera to be happy, and dark enough that the moon stood out beautiful and bright, with an unusually wide beam around it.
Have you ever tried to photograph the moon before?
Were you successful?
If you have any tips on moonlight photography with a 16 megapixel camera, then do share!

I really like your moon shots..especially the first one. I don't think I've ever taken a good photo of the moon!

When I take pictures I just trust my instincts...too bad they're often wrong. I love a full moon, when everything glows in the dark!!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos! I do love a good moon-rise! :-)
ReplyDeleteThe moon rise is often quite pretty!
