I have been taking the pictures for the Photo A Day Challenge every day, but have been failing to put them up here. So - here they all are in a collection, including poor old Number 19, which was taken on the correct day, but I kept forgetting to share it...oops!

Day 19: Delicious
The currant cake was enjoyed so much that another one was recently baked and enjoyed for morning tea - most delicious!

Day 23: Electric
I wasn't feeling very creative on that day....a pigeon on a power line with another tower in the background was as good as it got!

Day 24: Stripes
A rainy week means lovely cool weather, which also means plenty of knitting opportunities. My stripey mitered blanket is growing nicely....I love how the yarn patterns like this all by itself!

Day 25: Landscape
Now this prompt I pondered. Our small town doesn't really have much landscaping in it, or none that I know of! I was starting to think that I'd just have to photograph the flowers on the round-about when I realised that a landscape didn't have to be a lush garden. It was simply the scape of the land, or, according to google -
Noun:
All the visible features of an area of countryside or land, often considered in terms of their aesthetic appeal.
So, I photographed one of the many farms in our area, whilst on an early morning walk with Rilla. I know that farms aren't usually considered in terms of their aesthetic appeal, but I quite like the contrast of the deep red, volcanic soil mixed with the yellow of the sugar cane, and the bright green of younger plants.

Day 26: Together
I thought of many things to photograph for today, but none of them seemed right. Then I saw this beauty in the garden, feeding on the chive flowers. Butterflies and flowers belong together.

Have a happy Australia day!
And - for my overseas readers - have a happy weekend!

Gorgeous photos! So nice to see all the green. It's very drab here today. Actually, it can be pretty drab most of the year but deep blue skies do make everything look better. Today we have complete cloud cover. Wishing you a lovely rest of the week. Tammy
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed all the pictures but especially your yarn view. It looks just luscious! Have I missed the recipe for your currant cake? Looks yummy too!
ReplyDeleteI think farms are beautiful. The pink and white wool was lovely too. I looked up Australia day as I wasn't familiar with it. What a fun day.
