{day 15: an ordinary moment}
Baking bread is fairly ordinary in this house. The only bread we eat is that which we produce ourselves. And I love it. You cannot beat the taste of fresh bread, and I absolutely love playing with the dough. I love shaping the round loaves and bread rolls, mixing the dough by hand and finding new flavours to try.
Plain bread is the most common, but I have also enjoy making cheese, herb or chocolate flavoured breads.
If you are interesting in trying your hand at bread making, there is an excellent book called Artisan Bread In 5 Minutes A Day, they also have a website over here.

Are you a bread lover like me?
Have you ever baked your own?
What do you consider to be "ordinary" in your life?

Love the smell of fresh bread baking, and the taste...yum!
ReplyDeleteBaking bread is a favourite winter activity here, served with homemade soup.
I love making my own bread - I don't do it enough though. Love the idea of cheese bread. Think I may need to add this to my to DO list xo
ReplyDeleteOh yes you know I love a homemade bread post! Your bread looks so wholesome! As you know we 'roll our own' too and if life didn't get in the way I would happily spend my days just making bread and playing with dough :)
ReplyDeleteIt's great fun, isn't it? We grind the flour for our own bread, so I certainly hope it is wholesome! :-)

I've been making our bread for over a year now and love it! If I miss a day or two and need to buy a quick loaf from the supermarket the kids moan and refuse to eat it!,
ReplyDeleteLol, that's great that they love it so much :-)
DeleteThanks for stopping by, xx
Fresh baked bread is the best... I cheat and use a bread maker though. It's still really good. I've always loved the smell of bread. They should make a bread scented perfume... mmmm.... :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the smell of bread baking and the taste of freshly made bread is so hard to beat.
ReplyDeleteI have that book and without it I may have given up on making bread on a regular basis as life got busier. It is great for making bread when you really might not have time to do so, and tastes good too! That said I still like to knead from time to time, usually on a slow weekend.
ReplyDeleteps- thank you for your kind thoughts on the fire. So far so good and hopefully we've seen the worst of it!
You're most welcome Tania. I'm glad to hear you're all safe and sound :-)

Your homemade breads look lovely. I have discovered bread baking about 2 years back and never buy bread from Coles and Woolies again :D
Nice to know you via blogging and wish to be back for more. I'm now your latest follower.
